New Year, New Menu!

A brand new year calls for a new menu! While many of our CW favorites will remain on our winter menu, Chef Andres Barrera has cooked up a delicious revamped dinner menu, including both hearty options for these cold winter months and lighter vegetarian-friendly dishes which are equally as delightful! Oh- and don’t forget about dessert! Our pastry chef Angelica Rangel has prepared some of our richest, most exquisite desserts yet for the perfect finale to your City Winery Chicago dinner.

First, we have several enticing new meat dishes sure to satisfy any meat lover’s palette. Our wine braised short rib is marinated in red wine, herbs, and mire poix (carrot, onion & celery) and served with a red wine demi glace, red pepper polenta, and leeks. (See below)

On the sweet and savory side, our Sarsaparilla Pork Belly dish has a delectable root beer flavor that comes from a mix of vanilla paste, star anise, coriander, brown sugar, sarsaparilla root and real maple syrup! Served with French toast and a maple bourbon sauce- Yum!

Our rich Moroccan Cassoulet puts a worldly spin on comfort food. Originating in the south of France, it is a slow-cooked mean & bean casserole containing lentils, root vegetables, and Andouille and Mergueze sausages, all seasoned with paprika, red wine, and dried chiles. Served with toasted bread.

Not a fan of red meat? No problem. Our Crispy Chicken Thighs are brined in salt, buttermilk, and hot sauce, and served over creamed swiss chard prepared with a parmesan béchamel sauce.

If you’d rather skip the meat altogether, consider opting for our Faroe Island Salmon served over a faro risotto and topped with wild mushrooms & crème de brie sauce. Our Stuffed Acorn Squash is baked and seasoned with salt, pepper, and EVOO, then stuffed with quinoa, sautéed peppers and dried cherries with a curried coconut sauce. The perfect health-conscious dish without compromising flavor (It’s gluten free, as well)!

As for the dessert, your taste buds are sure to be excited and pleased after experiencing our new dessert lineup. Our gluten free Apple Almond Cake boasts a sweet harmony of spiced almond cake, port poached apples, orange marmalade, and port reduction with a dollop of mascarpone gelato. The E.B.T.5 (our take on a Take5 bar) is a peanut butter pretzel crunch with chocolate cremeux salted caramel mousse, espresso cookie, and a creamy caramel sauce. Satisfy your pumpkin craving with the Forever Fall, consisting of a pumpkin custard, madeleine cake, vanilla sauce, cranberry compote, and a honey hazelnut nougat. Our Whiskey Banana Bread Pudding contains chunks of banana bread drizzled with a whiskey caramel sauce and is served with vanilla gelato and caramelized banana. Lastly, but surely not least, we’re introducing our Holidaze Trifle, with layers of gingerbread cake, eggnog mousse, gingersnap tuile, an eggnog shot, and chocolate covered matzo toffee. The holidays might have just passed, but this trifle is to die for!
