There are so many reasons to love February here at City Winery Chicago! Our fantastic winter lineup continues throughout the next month with another round of great shows! February kicks off with four nights of Steve Earle performing solo acoustic shows with guest Dawn Landes, followed by a weekend of bluegrass with Cornmeal and Jamie Lono & Noble Heart on 2/7 as part of the Chicago Blues and Bluegrass Festival and award winning bluegrass act Dailey & Vincent on 2/8.
In honor of Black History Month, we’re presenting a very special Mississippi Blues History Show featuring the roots of Mississippi blues with The Cedric Burnside Project & Super Chikan on 2/9. Later that week, John Oates celebrates his DVD release with a concert on 2/10, 10,000 Maniac’s performs two shows on Valentines Day 2/14, and Cuban Percussionist Pedrito Martinez & his group perform two shows on 2/15.
Our monthly Dinner Party with Elysabeth Alfano returns on 2/16 followed by an evening with Black Violin on 2/17, a revolutionary duo blending classical, hip-hop, R&B, & rock music. Singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin returns for two nights on 2/18 & 2/19 followed by three nights with Colin Hay on 2/2o- 2/22.
The month of February ends on a strong note with a passionate flamenco performance by Auxi Fernandez as part of the Chicago Flamenco Festival on 2/23, two nights with Leon Russell, Chicago’s own world music group Funkadesi, and a Meet & Greet show with Grammy award winning Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Sam Moore!
Aside from the many concerts to see in February, there are also several wine events worth checking out as well! On 2/4 the second installation of our City Winery Wine School Iberian Peninsula series focuses on Portugal, where you can learn all about the region’s wines while tasting them! Love cheese and wine? Attend our cheese & wine pairing class with Provenance Food & Wine on 2/11. Still don’t have Valentines Day plans? What better way to celebrate than at our wine and chocolate tasting party on 2/14? Master Sommelier Serafin Alvarado, who has performed with his band here before, will also be presenting a wine class with a focus on Greece on 2/16. We hope to see you at one of our unique wine events in February!
