City Winery celebrates one million glasses of tap wine with legendary musician John Oates

Celebrating a milestone, City Winery NYC poured its one-millionth glass of wine on tap. To help commemorate this moment, Founder & CEO Michael Dorf toasted City Winery with the legendary John Oates at his show last night at City Winery.

Over 300 guests raised a glass to toast New York’s first urban winery and intimate music venue. With wines served on tap, there are no supplies (cork, label, foil, bottle, boxes) to purchase, receive and store. As a result, waste is reduced and the finished product is much greener than through a traditional bottling system.

That translates to:
1 million glasses = 5 million ounces = 39062 gallons = 16714 cases = 200,568 bottles not used = 298 pallets of wine not used = 12.5 truck loads of empty glass not used
