Help City Winery Nashville’s Executive Chef Garrett Pittler win James Beard Foundation’s 2017 Blended Burger Project!
Made with a beef and cremini blend patty, Tennessee Brew Works Cutaway IPA, fried enoki mushrooms and red cabbage sauerkraut piled high on a pretzel bun, Executive Chef Garrett Pittler’s Beer Cheese Cremini Burger will be offered in the City Winery Nashville restaurant and venue until July 31. The patty is seasoned with Gaucho Espresso blend, from JM Thomason, a local Nashville company. Ingredients from this unique blend of espresso & chilies are sourced from farmers in Guatemala that work with the global nonprofit, Heifer International.
“At City Winery, we strive to encompass all things urban winery-inspired, regionally-influenced and locally sourced. Partnering with like-minded companies who also appreciate these same values, all for the sake of a delicious burger, is an opportunity not to be missed. I’ve competed in years past and always enjoyed the community aspect the Blended Burger Project inspires, and I’m excited to return this year with Doug Jefford and Heifer International at my side.”
Help us win! VOTE for our Blended Burger at jamesbeard.org/blendedburgerproject and share on social media using #BlendedBurgerProject. By casting a vote, you could win an expenses-paid trip for two to the 2018 Blended Burger Project event at the James Beard House in New York City! Deadline ends at 11:59PM ET 7/31/17.

You have quite the history with the dance industry. Tell us more!
I started my dance training at the age of three in tap, jazz and ballet. Throughout high school, I performed in the school’s musicals, which led to my dream to perform on Broadway. I moved to New York City at the age of seventeen and danced with the Radio City Rockettes. I’ve travelled all over the world touring with musicals. While living in LA, I was featured in many commercials, including one of the iPod commercials, and other several feature films!
You’re also a highly-decorated sommelier and have accomplished many things in the beverage industry. Tell us a little bit about your history in the bev world.
I’ve worked in the food & beverage industry for over ten years. I began my wine career in retail and received my Advanced Certification through the WSET five years ago. I’ve been studying with the Court of Master Sommeliers for several years now and have my Certified Sommelier pin. I’m now in the process of studying for my Advanced Sommelier pin, too.
